Bharat Survey For EdTech (BaSE) 2023

Bharat Survey for EdTech 2023 is a first-of-its-kind large-scale national survey by Central Square Foundation. It provides insights on access to and use of technology for the purpose of teaching and learning among parents, children and teachers from low-income backgrounds in India.

BaSE 2023 explores three foundational themes - access to technology, usage of EdTech and user sentiment around EdTech adoption.

Explores user sentiment around child’s education, engagement with learning avenues outside of school and support provided by caregivers at home and barriers and enablers for tech adoption

Survey Coverage

BaSE 2023 was administered across six states in India, covering both urban and rural settlements. The states were selected so as to be representative of varying state population sizes, levels of internet penetration and geographical spread.

Survey Sample

BaSE 2023 was administered to 6000+ households from low-resourced settings. The survey was conducted with parents and guardians whose children were enrolled in either a government or affordable private school and were studying between grades 1-12 at the time of the survey.
